South Park Bridge project speeds up to get funding

  • The county is hiring a construction manager for the $130 million project and has expedited design in an effort to get stimulus funds.

    It's crunch time for Seattle's deteriorating South Park Bridge.

    Its fate rests on King County's application for $99 million in federal stimulus money. The grant's main criteria: the new bridge must be completed by February of 2012.
