Volunteers needed for rail depot rehab
SOUTH CLE ELEM — State Parks staff is seeking public help in the rehabilitation of the historical Milwaukee Road substation No. 24, part of the South Cle Elum Historic Rail Yard Depot.
The substation was built in 1919, and is part of a historic district that includes a wood-frame depot, a brick power station, three operators' bungalows and a bunkhouse. The substation operated from 1919 to 1972.
