$30M upgrade for Unalaska Airport

ANCHORAGE — The Alaska Department of Transportation is seeking a contractor to build $20 million to $30 million in improvements to Unalaska Airport, which is on Amaknak Island in the Aleutian Islands.

The federally funded project will extend safety areas, reconstruct a runway, replace airfield lighting and relocate a road. Work is expected to be finished by Oct. 31, 2014.
