Sculpted structural shotcrete gave shape to this rugged residential pool.

Owner/developer: Lions Gate

Project team: Natural Creations Pools, general and concrete contractor; Miles Sand & Gravel Co., ready-mix supplier

Here’s a residential pool stony enough for the Flinstones to feel at home.

Structural shotcrete was used to provide the shape for a unique pool ensconced in what looks like natural rock, and then hand-molded to refine the contours and textures.

The contractor used a specially designed shotcrete mix and placed numerous ballast pillars and columns to form the pool’s jagged boundary.

The project demonstrates how adding texture and color can be used to soften structural hardscaping in a residential setting.
