Masins office build-out
Location: Seattle
General contractor: W.G. Clark Construction
Owner/developer: Masin Properties
Primary designer: Kovalenko Hale Architects
This project converted retail space to office use in an early 20th-century heavy-timber structure with four stories plus a basement. It was completed on a fast-track schedule that required complex scheduling and strong communications among the team members.
Two of the building’s new tenants were school-related and had classes starting soon, so meeting the schedule was critical.
Working from just four pages of preliminary design drawings, W.G. Clark quickly assembled a team with expertise in renovations, developed a conceptual budget, and assembled a fast-track schedule to integrate design and construction activities to meet the tenant’s requirements for move-in and operations startup.
The owner praised the W.G. Clark team, saying they “worked miracles to finish on time we truly made the right choice in selecting W.G. Clark to do the job!”
