SEATTLE — Longshoremen are picketing at the site of Seattle’s $3.1 billion tunnel project, arguing that four jobs along the waterfront have been improperly given to other union workers.
A couple dozen members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union began their protest Tuesday, blocking access to the waterfront area where the four workers would be operating. ILWU Local 19 President Cameron Williams says the mobilization will continue until there is movement toward returning the four jobs to the longshoremen.
