The High Street Shopping Centre is one of the largest retail developments in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.

Location: Abbotsford

Contractor: Master Stucco

Architect: Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership

Team: Pacific West Systems Supply; Imasco Minerals

The High Street Shopping Centre is one of the largest retail developments in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland region, with more than 600,000 square feet of retail space for tenants such as Walmart, Cineplex, London Drugs, Old Navy, Marshalls and H&M.

The overall volume and timing of work on each building were both challenging factors. Master Stucco worked closely with Graham Construction, Shape Properties and the subtrades to make sure schedules were met while quality remained high.

The mall had scheduled a multi-phase opening in 2013, thus an additional challenge was working efficiently without disrupting the public. The amount of technical details in each area required an experienced crew, which contributed to the overall success of the project.

Judge’s comment: “The strong expertise of the construction team navigating many technical details in this multi-phase project contributed to the overall success of this mall, one of the largest retail developments in the Lower Mainland.”
