Dumpling house Din Tai Fung recently opened its fifth U.S. location at 2621 N.E. 46th St. in Seattle's University Village.

The 11,000-square-foot restaurant has an open-floor concept that seats 230.

A large commercial kitchen was built in what used to be part of a parking garage. A large window allows customers to see where dumplings are made. Prominent features include stained decorative designs on the polished concrete floors, wire-brushed-fir panels along the walls, and custom lighting fixtures.
