WSDOT using 800-pound bolts to link up first set of pontoons

Crews have started connecting pontoons to each other to form the bridge. This shows the pontoon on the east end, which is outfitted with roadway support columns.

The new state Route 520 floating bridge has begun its march across Lake Washington. Late last week, construction crews joined the first two immense concrete pontoons that will support the freeway.
