Tuesday meeting on Magnuson cleanup

SEATTLE — Three agencies cleaning up radium paint contamination at Magnuson Park will provide an update next week on the work.

Contamination was found a few years ago in parts of buildings 2 and 27, both old hangars. The Navy used the rooms to repaint aircraft cockpit dials with glow-in-the-dark radium paint in the 1940s and 1950s.
