Nonprofit Kin On last month broke ground on a multi-phase project that will expand its campus at 4416 S. Brandon St. in Seattle's Hillman City neighborhood.
The two-year expansion will allow Kin On to provide holistic healthcare to aging members of the Chinese community. Kin On says the services are affordable and culturally sensitive.
Plans for the 2.5-acre campus involve a remodel of the nursing home that will increase it to 2,600 square feet, construction of a 13,000-square-foot assisted-living facility, and a new 2,750-square-foot adult family home. The expanded nursing home will have space for a community center and short-term rehabilitation center.
New buildings will have Chinese architectural elements.
