TACOMA (AP) — The historic ferry Kalakala — once the silver symbol of progress on Puget Sound — will make its final trip today, a two-mile tow to a scrap yard in Tacoma.
The News Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1zwIdnX ) it will be moved gently on the early tide because of fragile nature of the hull. Pumps are on board should it start to take on water.
