Clean-up of Oregon's Coos Head nearly finished

    COOS HEAD, Ore. — Ten years after The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians regained the 43 acres near Charleston known as Coos Head, the area has reached a point where it is 80 percent cleaned up from the various contaminants left behind.

    That milestone has tribal administrators beginning to turn their focus to what kind of facilities the almost entirely remediated area will feature.
