Fire sidelines Alaska village water purification system

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) — A boiler fire has sidelined the water purification system in a tiny village in Alaska's interior.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner newspaper reports the 27 residents of Alatna can get potable water across the frozen Koyukuk River to the larger community of Allakaket.
