In June, Mora Iced Creamery will open a 10,000-square-foot factory at 22195 Viking Ave. N.W. in Poulsbo that will make ice cream using equipment from Italy.
Karreman & Associates designed the factory, which will also house offices for the luxury ice cream brand. Eagle Harbor Properties is the builder.
Ana Orselli and Jerry Perez established Mora Iced Creamery in 2004 on Bainbridge Island. Mora has a small factory and three shops — in Bainbridge, Poulsbo and Kingston.
Mora sells 48 flavors that range from Mexican chocolate to a blend made from goat cheese and figs.
The company said that thanks to positive reviews by Zagat and Martha Stewart, its retail business has expanded — and not just in Washington but nationwide with overnight shipping of pints to consumers.
The Poulsbo factory will allow Mora to meet retail demand and expand wholesale operations to restaurants, hotels and hospitality customers.
