Excavation is complete at The Mark at Fifth and Columbia, and last weekend crews began to build the foundation of the 44-story downtown Seattle office and hotel building.
Daniels Real Estate and Stockbridge Capital Group are developing The Mark. When complete, the building will have 528,000 square feet of office space and a 184-room SLS Hotel.
Crews were to pour concrete into the six-story hole from midnight to 4 p.m. Saturday. The pour required 135,000 cubic feet of concrete, about 1.5 million pounds of steel rebar and 550 ready-mix trucks.
ZGF Architects is designing the project, and JTM Construction is the general contractor. Philippe Starck is designing the hotel.

Hayes & Sons, excavation; Bush, Roed & Hitchings, survey; Deeny Construction, utilities; Conco, concrete; Canron Western Constructors, structural steel supply; The Erection Co., steel erection; Harmon, curtainwall; Kone, elevators; Auburn Mechanical, plumbing; Hermanson, HVAC; and Cochran Electric, electrical.
