KIRKLAND — The Kirkland City Council approved plans to repave Northeast 85th Street, the city's busiest arterial.
Work will occur at night over a 30-day span, but the loudest parts of the job will be performed during the day.
Paving is expected to begin in September, but could start sooner.
The project is part of a larger plan which includes a new water main, stormwater system, curbs, sidewalks, gutters and lighting.
Johansen Excavating is installing street lights and preparing the intersections of 132nd and 124th for new traffic signals. They are also putting in a new stormwater system.
