TUMWATER — The state Department of Labor and Industries fined Industrial Container Services $215,250 for safety and health violations after a worker became entangled in a rotating shaft while inside a confined space.
The Florida-based company refurbishes metal drums and other industrial containers. The worker was hospitalized in January after being injured inside a drum refurbishing unit at a Seattle plant, according to the state.
L&I issued 15 violations, including four “repeat serious” violations.
Industrial Container has appealed the citation.
