Ore. airport to get runway upgrade

REDMOND, Ore. (AP) — The Redmond Airport is preparing to close for three weeks as it undergoes an $18.5 million resurfacing project.

The Bend Bulletin reports that the airport in central Oregon will close for 21 days starting May 2. Airport Director Zachary Bass says nearly 2,600 takeoffs and landings won't occur as normally scheduled while both runways are being worked on.
