BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) — The chief of the Keating Fire Department in Eastern Oregon says a burglary last week cost the department an estimated $100,000 in equipment.
Buzz Harper said the theft was noticed when firefighters responded to fight a chicken coop fire. If it had been a medical call, the volunteers would have been hard-pressed to respond effectively.
