Forest Service wants to save 4 old cabins in central Oregon

BEND, Ore. (AP) — The U.S. Forest Service is trying to save four Depression-era cabins near an Oregon lake that are at risk of deterioration.

The Bulletin reports that the Bend chapter of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows built 11 cabins and a lodge on the south shore of Paulina Lake during the mid-1930s. Seven of the cabins and the lodge were demolished 50 years later.
