Perkins+Will said NorthEdge, a 208,000-square-foot office building at 1601 N. 34th St. in Wallingford, has been completed.

The four-story project was designed by the firm’s Seattle office for Touchstone, the developer.

Tableau Software is the building’s sole tenant. The space will accommodate more than 1,300 employees.

NorthEdge is organized around a 38-foot-wide central outdoor court, with small roof terraces and walkways that step down the site toward Lake Union. It has two levels of underground parking.

“The inspiration for NorthEdge came from the adjacent Gas Works Park,” said Kay Kornovich, principal and managing director of the Seattle office of Perkins+Will, in a statement.

“As former home to the city’s municipal gas works, the park today contains much of its original 1900s machinery. The rustic and modern materials selected for NorthEdge harmonizes with materials found at the park to celebrate the area’s industrial past.”

The building was designed to earn a LEED silver rating. Construction included substantial water conservation and cleanup.

Lease Crutcher Lewis was the general contractor.
