Holy Names Mary Herche Pavilion

Holy Names Academy, a private girl’s school in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, has completed the three-story Mary Herche Pavilion and other upgrades.

The 8,932-square-foot pavilion is located between the landmark 1908 school building and 1990 Jeanne Marie McAteer Lee Gymnasium.

An elevated walkway was replaced by the pavilion, which connects the two older buildings and houses a fitness center, commons and multipurpose conference room.

One level contains the fitness center and expanded cafeteria seating. There also is an outdoor deck on the third level.

Major upgrades were also made to the library and an ADA-accessible elevator in the main building.

Owner: Holy Names Academy

General contractor: Kirtley-Cole Associates

Architect: Broderick Architects

Structural engineer: Smith Co.

Civil engineer: Coughlin Porter Lundeen

Landscape architect: Jay A. Magruder
