Firm eyes restarting local coal mine

SEATTLE (AP) — A coal mine outside of Seattle would start up again for the first time since 1999 under a proposal by a company that got a recent boost from the Trump administration.

The Seattle Times reported Friday that Pacific Coast Coal Company seeks to mine 85,000 to 90,000 tons of coal per year over six years from private land just outside Black Diamond.
