Agency OKs buses on shoulder of I-5

SEATTLE — A Sound Transit Board committee approved funding for work to speed up buses by operating them on the shoulder of a segment of southbound Interstate 5 between Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace.

The project is the first to move forward under a new bus-on-shoulder program funded by Sound Transit 3, which voters approved in 2016.
