Mud Mountain Dam fish facility starts

BUCKLEY, Pierce County — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers broke ground Friday at Mud Mountain Dam for the country's largest trap-and-haul fish passage facility.

Earlier this year, the corps awarded a $112 million contract to Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. to build the project. Kiewit expects to start construction next month.
