OLYMPIA — WSDOT said the condition of its bridges, and those owned and maintained by local governments, continued to improve through the first half of the year.
WSDOT-owned bridges over the last fiscal year (ending June 30) improved from 8.2 percent in poor condition to 7.5 percent. Those owned by local governments improved from 7.6 percent in poor condition to 6.6 percent. A “poor” rating means repairs are needed but a closure is not.
