Report: traffic costs contractors $23B yearly

  • More than 80 percent of construction firms in Washington that responded to a poll said traffic delays cost them at least 10 hours in lost work time per worker yearly.

    Seattle has the worst traffic in the nation, according to a study last year by GPS navigation information provider TomTom.

    In the Puget Sound area, few businesses can steer clear of the ill effects of heavy traffic. For the construction industry, that is especially true, as traffic has become a serious bottom-line issue, according to a recent report by the Associated General Contractors of America.
