Over the next 50 years, the region will see more storms and that will put additional pressure on urban storm sewers and systems to handle them. The prediction is part of what the University of Washington's Climate Impacts Group calls the most comprehensive report yet on how climate change will affect the state.
The report is meant to help the state plan for climate change. In 2007, the state Legislature funded the Climate Impacts Group to lead the planning effort with $1.5 million.
