Metaline gets funds for water system

OLYMPIA — Yesterday, Gov. Chris Gregoire announced the town of Metaline is the first water system in the state to sign a loan deal using funds from the federal stimulus for badly needed drinking water improvements.

Under the recovery act, Metaline is receiving a $600,000 loan to replace a water-filtering system that is more than 50 years old.
