SEATTLE — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy honored businesses and organizations for their contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency. There were nine local winners.
Awards were given at the 2010 Energy Star Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. Sustained Excellence Awards were given to Advantage IQ of Spokane and Energy Trust of Oregon in Portland, among others. Partner of the Year Awards went to Evergreen Public Schools in Vancouver; JELD-WEN, of Klamath Falls, Ore.; Puget Sound Energy in Bellevue; and Kennedy Associates in Seattle.
