Want to build a rain garden? Some tips on getting started

People can help reduce polluted stormwater by planting a rain garden on their property.

The undisturbed, native landscapes of Western Washington mastered stormwater filtration, distribution and storage long ago. Putting rain gardens in urban settings can mimic these natural systems to reduce flooding, balance hydrologic cycles, and protect our property and the environment.
