New power plant for Eastern Oregon

BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) — Baker County commissioners have approved a contact with a firm that will complete the necessary paperwork to build a hydroelectric power plant southwest of Baker City.

The Baker City Herald reports (http://is.gd/9h7bP5 ) the county plans to build a 3.4-megawatt system at Mason Dam, which blocks the Powder River to form Phillips Reservoir.
