County planning for Cedar River floods

RENTON — The potential for flooding along the 22-mile Cedar River corridor threatens some major properties such as The Boeing Co.'s 737 assembly plant, Paccar's Kenworth truck plant and Renton Municipal Airport.

So the King County Flood Control District is funding the Cedar River Corridor Plan, a long-range strategy that integrates flooding, erosion, landslide and channel-migration risk reduction with habitat-restoration opportunities in the Cedar River Basin.
