PORT ANGELES, Clallam County (AP) — Fire managers say a wildfire burning in old-growth forest in Olympic National Park grew in size but cooler temperatures helped temper that growth.
The fire on Wednesday morning was estimated at about 1 ½ square miles. The 950-acre blaze is burning high in the tree tops in a wilderness area about 13 miles north of Quinault. No structures were threatened.
