Lead levels down at Tacoma schools

TACOMA (AP) — Officials say further testing at three Tacoma elementary schools that previously had high levels of lead in their drinking water indicates the water is now safe to drink.

The News Tribune reports district officials said Monday that parents of students at Larchmont, Manitou Park and Reed elementary schools had been informed that the water is at acceptable levels.
