OLYMPIA — Companies that operate petroleum pipelines in this state would be required to improve their contingency plans under new rules proposed by the Department of Ecology.
Ecology is taking comment through July 22 on the proposal. The changes would cover pipelines that carry crude oil and refined oil products. Three public hearings are scheduled: Wednesday in Everett at the Holiday Inn Downtown, Thursday in Vancouver and in Spokane on July 7. The session on Wednesday will be offered in person and online as a webinar.
