BEND, Ore. (AP) — Environmental advocates have filed a lawsuit against Portland General Electric, alleging that the utility's dams along the Deschutes River have reduced water quality.
The Bulletin reports that the Deschutes River Alliance is arguing that Portland General Electric's dam complex has harmed downstream water and violated the Clean Water Act. The lawsuit claims the utility has violated standards for temperature, dissolved oxygen and other factors that maintain water quality.
