Metal plant to pay $650K for pollution

KENNEWICK (AP) — A metal manufacturer in southern Washington has agreed to pay $650,000 and make improvements to its wastewater treatment systems along the Columbia River to settle a lawsuit brought by a nonprofit organization.

The Tri-City Herald reports the settlement between Sandvik Special Metals of Finley and Columbia Riverkeeper was filed Monday.
