Swimming robot joins the cleanup team at nuclear plant damaged by quake, tsunami

Toshiba and the International Research Institute for Nuclear Decommissioning show off a new underwater robot designed to enter and inspect the Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Station. The robot contains two cameras and LED lights.

YOKOSUKA, Japan — A Japanese industrial group has designed a robot for underwater probes of damage from meltdowns at the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear plant after the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
