Data 1 wins 2030 District award

Weber Thompson designed an office building in Fremont that received the Vision Award for Water from the Seattle 2030 District.

The LEED gold Data 1 building has biofiltration retention planters that are designed to annually treat 160,000 gallons of polluted runoff from the Aurora Bridge.

Future remediation projects are planned on nearby properties, with the goal of treating over 2 million gallons of runoff every year.

Weber Thompson said in a press release that Tableau Software will occupy all the office space in Data 1 by the end of the year.

Weber Thompson was the architect and landscape architect, and did educational signage. The project is managed by Stephen C. Grey & Associates.

Other team members are: CoU, developer; Pennon Construction, contractor; KPFF civil engineering; and DCI, structural engineering.

Awards also were given for leadership, energy and transportation.
