Reed College gets Microsoft grant

PORTLAND (AP) — Reed College in southeast Portland has received a $500,000 grant from Microsoft that will help the school start a degree program in computer science.

The Oregonian reports (http://goo.gl/8Yu3g4V ) that the private college began planning to raise $5 million for a new computer science degree program about a year and a half ago. School leaders on Tuesday said the fundraising is nearly complete.
