Q. What's a “listicle” and can you cite some fun facts about it? No, it's not written English vertically arranged in popsicle form.
A. It's a simple blending of the words “list” and “article,” betokening groups of items such as the ever-popular “best of” lists, “worst of” lists, “helpful hints” lists and more, says Arika Okrent in The University of Chicago Magazine. Information of all kinds can be delivered in this form, including stories, complaints, pictures — you name it.
