Coconut Grove, Miami's oldest neighborhood, facing new challenges

Coconut Grove Playhouse is a former movie theater constructed in the Spanish Rococo style in the 1920s, in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami. Although closed, several proposals to revive the theater are being considered. Coconut Grove is just a few miles from downtown, with tree canopies sand historic structures scattered throughout.

MIAMI — With its artsy vibe, lush landscapes and free-roaming peacocks, Coconut Grove has long been known as a bohemian paradise.
