After Hours: Small is big at the 2018 home show

This She Shed, from Aurora Quality Buildings, is one of the exhibits at Seattle Home Show, which opens Saturday and runs through Feb. 25.

SEATTLE — You can see She Sheds and other options for tiny homes and backyard studios at Seattle Home Show, which runs Feb. 17-25 at CenturyLink Field Event Center.

Small is the next big thing, and small structures of all types will be on display.

As home prices rise in the Puget Sound market, people are looking for affordable options, and existing homeowners are looking at ways to add ADUs, backyard studios and detached home offices.

Exhibitors such as Carriage Houses Northwest will have tiny homes at the show, landscaped by Malone's Landscaping. Heritage Portable Homes is one of the firms that will have secondary buildings on display, and there will be a fully decorated She Shed from Aurora Quality Buildings.
