SEATTLE — Celebrate Seafair at the Museum of Flight when it holds the outdoor festival Jet Blast Bash.
There will be fast planes, fast cars, music, food and beer — and the closest seats to the Blue Angels' takeoffs and landings. It's also the launch pad for most of the other performers in the Seafair Air Show.
The event runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is free with admission to the museum.
You'll also see a World War II PBY Catalina flying boat from Canada, and a new E/A-18 Growler jet and a E-2C Hawkeye propjet. It's the last weekend of tours of the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital. The hospital is inside a converted MD-10 cargo plane, and will be open all weekend.
There'll be presentations about the history of the Blue Angels, and SR-71 spyplane pilot and author Brian Shul will share stories about what it's like to be at the edge of space.
Information is at http://www.museumofflight.org.
