The Edmonds office of Landau Associates promoted Allan Barton to GIS analyst and Eric Zick to CAD/GIS technician, Steven Shaw to project geologist, Chad McMullen to senior engineer and Kenneth Reid to senior geologist. The Tacoma office promoted Benjamin Lee to senior staff engineer. In Portland Heather Nielsen was promoted to project geologist and Erin Waibel to assistant geologist. Barton does cartographic production and geographic data analysis. Zick communicates with internal clients. Shaw specializes in sediment characterization and remediation. McMullen works in the geotechnical group. Reid develops and manages complex site investigations and trains junior staff. Lee does groundwater flow modeling and hydrogeologic field work. Nielsen does environmental due diligence, including hazardous building materials surveys. Waibel does environmental site assessments and operations, and maintenance support on remediation projects. Edmonds-based Landau Associates provides geotechnical and environmental engineering, remediation, permitting and compliance services.

Butters

Lochner hired Aaron Butters and Mark Burrus as senior project managers in the Bellevue office. Butters will work with local agency clients on program management, federal aid and funding advisory services. Butters was with the Washington State Department of Transportation for 30 years in program development and program management. Burrus leads transportation engineering projects at Lochner and growth initiatives in the Northwest region. He also mentors junior engineers on project management and complex projects. Burrus has 16 years of experience in transportation design. Chicago-based Lochner is a transportation and infrastructure company, with offices across the United States, including in Bellevue and Lacey.

Jacobs Associates

Smith

Jacobs Associates promoted Rick Smith to senior associate in Seattle. Smith has 27 years of geotechnical engineering experience for heavy civil design and construction. He has worked on underground projects in Seattle, including the Brightwater conveyance system and University Link Light Rail. He is working on the Rainier Valley wet weather storage project in Seattle. Jacobs Associates provides services for underground projects and in water, wastewater and transportation sectors, with offices in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Parsons

Parsons named Michael Cotten senior project manager in the Seattle office. He is an engineer and will focus on large infrastructure projects in the Northwest. Cotten worked with Washington State Department of Transportation for 30 years, most recently as assistant regional administrator for the Northwest. He worked on highway projects in King and Snohomish counties, and Link light rail. Parsons works in the engineering, construction, technical and professional services industries.

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, a law firm focused on construction law, government contracts and commercial litigation, added Alix K. Schroeder to the Government Contracts and Construction Law practice groups in Seattle. Her practice focuses on government contracts.

Her Interactive

Her Interactive named Penny Milliken as its new CEO. She has more than 20 years of entertainment experience and replaces Stuart Moulder who has served as CEO since May 2011. Milliken's background includes theme parks, motion pictures, animation, television, home entertainment, new media and e-commerce. Her Interactive creates mystery adventure games and apps.

Port of Everett

Reardanz

The Port of Everett Commission hired Les Reardanz as the new CEO starting Nov. 16. He is deputy executive director and oversees environmental cleanups, public policy, communications, human resources, and legal and contacting activities. Reardanz is a captain in the Naval Reserve and has more than 20 years of leadership experience. He worked as the municipal legal advisor for Bellingham and was project manager for the city's Waterfront District Development. Outgoing CEO John Mohr retires in January.

Kim Carhee was hired as vice president and loan operations manager for Seattle Bank. She has worked at KeyBank, Boston Private Bank & Trust and Regal Financial Bank.

ImpactFlow

ImpactFlow, an online marketplace that connects donors with nonprofits, opened a new office at 2420 N.E. Sandy Blvd. in Portland, led by Tyler Foreman and Sean Kvingedal, who are co-CEOs. Armon Moore is chief creative officer and Paul Burdick is vice president of engineering. All four founded the company. ImpactFlow recently doubled its staff in Portland, and is expanding its outreach in Seattle and the Bay Area.

Swinerton Builders Northwest hired Les Martin as senior project manager, Scott Kubiszewski as regional safety manager, Michael Sheppard and Travis Porto as superintendents, and Charles Gibson as assistant superintendent. Martin has 24 years of construction experience and is working on tribal and healthcare projects. Kubiszewski joined Swinerton in 2007 and previously worked for the company's Los Angeles division before transferring to the Northwest division. Sheppard has 25 years of construction experience and is working on tenant improvement projects. Porto has 16 years of construction experience and is also working on tenant improvements. Gibson has 25 years of construction experience and is working on new construction projects. Swinerton said 2014 revenues for its Northwest division will exceed $100 million.

The Seattle office of Walsh Construction Co. promoted Mariah Grife to project manager and Tyler Katzen to superintendent. Grife joined the company in 2009 as a project engineer and was promoted to assistant project manager in 2013. Katzen joined Walsh in 2008 as a project engineer and was promoted to field operations coordinator in 2010. The company also moved the Seattle office to 315 Fifth Ave. S., Suite 600.

Bellevue-based general contractor Express Construction added Scott Nitzel as project manager, Dave Anderson and David Lee as superintendents, and Gina Guschin as project engineer. Nitzel is working in the Special Projects division, where he specializes in financial institution, retrofit and tenant improvement projects. Anderson and Lee are both experienced in shell-and-core construction, as well as special projects and tenant improvements.

Alix K. Schroeder joined Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker in Seattle as attorney in its Government Contracts and Construction Law groups. Schroeder is focusing on government contracts and related litigation matters such as bid protests, claims, contract disputes, ethics and compliance issues. She holds a law degree from George Washington University and a bachelor's degree from Trinity College in Connecticut.
