EHS Design hired Sean Chen as an intern architect. Chen has experience in international, residential and retail projects. He also has a background in Revit and CAD. EHS Design provides interior design and architecture.

Swearinger

Fraser

DCI Engineers hired Stephen Fraser and Sean Swearinger as structural CAD designers in Seattle. Fraser has three years of CAD experience and is working on buildings and specialty projects. He taught math and science in the U.S., China and Taiwan, and holds a bachelor's in mechanical engineering and a master's of education. Swearinger will work on residential projects. He holds an N.S.C.C. certificate for CAD/design and a bachelor's in history from the University of Washington. He was a drafter at Five Star Industries. DCI is a Seattle-based civil and structural engineering firm, with offices also in Spokane, Portland, Eugene, San Diego, Irvine, San Francisco and Anchorage.

West Consultants

West Consultants hired Keelan Jensen and Alec Robertson as hydraulic engineering staff members in the Bellevue office. In Salem, Oregon, it hired Erik McCarthy as a hydraulic engineering staff member. Jensen performs hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and works on software models for the Corps of Engineers. He holds a master's degree in civil engineering-water resources from Brigham Young University. Robertson works with hydraulic engineering and geographic information systems. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in water resources and environmental engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. McCarthy specializes in stormwater and dam breach modeling, and hydraulic structure design. He holds a master's degree in civil engineering-water resources from Brigham Young University. West provides water resources engineering, with offices in Washington, Oregon, California and Arizona.

Tim Brockway has returned to Coughlin Porter Lundeen as a senior project manager for the civil engineering team. He has 22 years of experience with such clients as Microsoft, Bellevue Community College and Snohomish School District. From 2003 to 2008, he worked at Coughlin Porter Lundeen, which provides structural, civil and seismic engineering.

Nakano Associates promoted Paula Gilmour to senior associate and hired Steve Nowaczyk and Alex Mann as associates. Gilmour managed construction administration of the Madison Valley stormwater storage project and Rainier Beach Community Center and will manage work on the East Link light rail extension. Nowaczyk has five years as a project manager and designer in the Bay Area and holds a bachelor of landscape architecture from Michigan State University. He is working on East Link and Seattle City Light Training Center. Mann has five years in landscape design and neighborhood planning and holds a bachelor of landscape architecture from Washington State University. He is working on the College Instruction Center at Olympic College and Plaza Roberto Maestas. Nakano is a landscape architecture and urban design firm in Seattle.

Integrus Architecture promoted Becky Barnhart and Robert Graper to associate principals and made them shareholders. Barnhart has been with the firm since 2002 and now manages higher education projects, including the Central Washington University Science Phase II Building and the Washington State University College of Nursing Building. Graper, a structural engineer, has been with the firm since 2004. His projects include the Northwest Detention Center expansion in Tacoma, SGL Automotive Carbon Fiber Phase 3 Building in Moses Lake and U.S. embassy campuses. Integrus provides architectural, planning, interior design and structural engineering services, with offices in Spokane and Seattle.

In its Kirkland office, Otak hired Seungjin Baek as a senior water resources engineer, Cristina Haworth as a land use planner, Jesse Reynolds as a surface water planner and GIS analyst, and Marina Howard as a civil engineering designer. Baek holds a Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering and has seven years of research and consulting experience, with an emphasis on hydrodynamic, sediment transport and water quality modeling projects. He is working on estuary restoration and stormwater facility evaluation projects. Haworth's experience includes integrated planning and zoning at city and neighborhood scales; land use and development law; and planning. She is working on projects for Medina and Shoreline. Reynolds has eight years experience performing GIS and GPS services. His fieldwork has included Resource Grade Trimble GPS, site remediation studies, conservation biology studies, river resource surveys, and avalanche control. He is working on projects for Everett and Burien. Howard was an engineering intern at Clackamas County and at private engineering firms. Howard earned her bachelor's in civil engineering from Santa Clara University. She is working on trails and a roundabout. Otak is an engineering, urban design, architecture and planning firm.

Andrew Bratlien joined Transportation Solutions as a senior transportation engineer. Bratlien has transportation modeling experience in North America and been involved in development and testing for simulation and traffic engineering software. TSI is a transportation engineering and planning firm in Redmond.

Liberty Upton has joined Helsell Fetterman as an associate attorney in the estate planning and taxation departments. She earned her law degree from Seattle University in 2013, and her master of laws in taxation from University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2014. Samuel Winninghoff has joined as an associate attorney in the litigation group. He got his law degree from Seattle University School of Law in 2013.

BakerHostetler said Gina Culbert has joined the firm in the Seattle office as an of counsel member of the intellectual property group. She comes from Merchant & Gould and has litigated commercial and intellectual property disputes in federal, state and local courts for more than 25 years.

Crista

Crista named Deborah (Deb) Limb executive vice president and COO for its family of ministries: Crists Media, Crista Senior Living, Crista Camps, King's Schools and Seattle Urban Academy. She worked at Boeing for 26 years and was director of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Structures Engineering.
