DCI Engineers

Peterson

Hallums-Diaz

Seattle, DCI Engineers hired Jesse Hallums-Diaz as a structural project engineer and Nikki Peterson as a human resources/accounting assistant. Hallums-Diaz is providing design support for Hotel Clare in Seattle. He worked at Mason West in California and interned at Degenkolb Engineers in Los Angeles. He holds a master's in structural and earthquake engineering and a bachelor's in civil engineering from the University of California in Los Angeles. Peterson assists with recruiting and accounting. She was a construction loan specialist and an inspection liaison at Granite Loan Management and holds a bachelor's in accounting from DeVry University. DCI is a Seattle-based civil and structural engineering firm, with offices also in Spokane, Portland, San Diego, Irvine, San Francisco, Austin and Anchorage.

NBBJ

Cook

Juli Cook was appointed chief operating officer of NBBJ, a Seattle-based architecture and design firm. Cook is located in Seattle, and oversees 10 global offices as well as managing administrative, financial, legal, IT and human resources functions. She was executive vice president of Corbis Images and senior vice president of its media products and global operations. Cook most recently led that firm's diversification efforts, acquiring new business lines including Splash and Demotix. She also was vice president of product management at Washington Mutual and held management roles at Deloitte Consulting and Sotheby's.

Suyama Peterson Deguchi

Seattle-based Suyama Peterson Deguchi promoted architect Chris Haddad to partner. Haddad joined the firm in 1997. He has worked on residential projects that include Broadmoor Residence in Seattle (which won two American Institute of Architects honor awards), and houses in Medina, the Kitsap Peninsula, Montana and California. He recently collaborated with George Suyama on a house in Palo Alto, California. Haddad has also worked on commercial projects for the firm. He is a sculptor whose work is in galleries and private collections.

Notkin Mechanical Engineers promoted operations/human resources manager Staci Knight to partner. Knight manages human resources and day-to-day office operations and supports accounting. She has been in human resources for 10-plus years. Seattle-based Notkin provides analysis, design and sustainability consulting services.

In the Seattle office, Integrus Architecture hired Kathy Huesmann as an engineering technician, Nicolette Palmer as an interior designer, Shannon Payton as a project designer and Brianne Tomlin as a project architect. Huesmann is a drafting technician with 18 years of experience on institutional projects. She will work on the structural engineering team. Palmer has worked on way-finding design and art packages for medical facilities. Payton returns to Integrus after completing her master's degree in landscape architecture and urban design from the University of Copenhagen. She has seven years of experience designing learning environments. Tomlin has 10 years of experience designing educational, energy, and corporate facilities. Integrus provides architectural, planning, interior design, structural engineering and security design services.

Eddy

Sclater Architects hired Judd Eddy as a senior project manager and Ari Anderson as an intern. Eddy has over 20 years of experience on mixed-use, office, retail, residential and industrial spaces, including Samsung Semiconductor Headquarters in San Jose, California. Anderson holds a master's in architecture from North Dakota State University. He has interned with DJR Architecture and C.M. Architecture. Sclater is an architectural design and planning firm in Seattle.

Architects Rasmussen Triebelhorn hired Charlyn Wingard as a senior project architect/assistant project manager and Cortnee Hendrick as an intern architect/job captain. Wingard returns to the firm with over 30 years of architectural experience on municipal, educational, religious, theatrical, dining, recreational and mixed-use projects. Hendrick has seven years of experience on residential and master planning projects. She is working on Yakima County Resource Center. The Tacoma-based firm focuses on municipal and justice facilities.

AKS Engineering & Forestry

Reed

AKS Engineering & Forestry hired Stacey Reed to lead its new natural resources division and Mimi Doukas as a planning project manager. Reed has experience managing wetland projects. She was with SWCA Environmental Consultants. Doukas will do entitlement work. She has 20 years of experience in land development, landscape architecture and master planning. She was with Venture Properties. AKS provides civil engineering, land use planning, land/hydrographic surveying, landscape architecture, forest engineering, arborist, and natural resource services, with offices in Vancouver, and Tualatin and Salem, Ore.

Skagit County EDA

Don Wick will retire from the Economic Development Association of Skagit County after nearly three decades at the helm of EDASC. Wick plans to stay until a replacement is found, probably in mid-2015. Wick joined EDASC in 1987, after spending 15 years in radio broadcasting as a news director, program director and station manager.

Mercent

CommerceHub has agreed to acquire Mercent, a retail technology company based in Seattle. When the deal is final next month, the firms will combine teams and have offices on the East and West coasts. Mercent founder and CEO Eric Best becomes chief marketing officer. Mercent helps retailers optimize digital marketing. The firm says it was founded by Amazon.com veterans and is backed by Madrona Venture Group.
