THA Architecture promoted Laurie Canup, Derek deVille, Nick Hodges, Stefee Knudsen, and Andrew Schilling to senior associate and Audrey Alverson to associate. Canup is an integrated design leader, whose previous projects include University of Oregon's Lewis Integrated Science Building. She is working on the Plant Growth Facility at Washington State University. DeVille was senior project architect on THA's first design/build project: Colonel Nesmith Readiness Center. He is working on a new dining hall for George Fox University. Hodges' projects include the Academic Classroom Building for Portland Community College's Cascade campus, and he is working on Oregon Episcopal School's new Lower School. Knudsen has over 20 years of experience in project management and design. She managed a vehicle processing project for the Juarez-Lincoln Port of Entry in Laredo, Texas, and is managing Oregon Episcopal School's Lower School. Schilling has 20 years of experience. He is senior project architect for UW's Denny Hall. He has taught at Portland State University and the University of Cincinnati. Alverson is senior marketing coordinator. She has a background in interior design and journalism. She has worked on new media and proposals for THA.

GGLO promoted David Winans and Kevin Reed to senior associate; Tina Ritval, Jen Lien, Michael Lipko, Christine Harrington and Blake Williams to associate; and Tina Suh to marketing manager. Winans has been with the firm since 2004. He has managed multifamily and mixed-use projects, including Hjarta and AVA Queen Anne. He previously worked in Texas on institutional, office and retail projects. Reed designs housing, and has worked on high-rise multifamily, hospitality and neighborhood redevelopment. His recent work includes Alley 111. Ritval has a construction technology background and has worked on projects ranging from single tenant spaces to towers. Her recent work includes Urban Animal, a veterinary clinic on Capitol Hill. Lien has 17 years of experience that includes urban housing and public transit. She has been lead architect on projects, and is managing the design team for Seattle Civic Square, a planned 43-story mixed-use tower. Lipko joined the firm in 2013, and is project landscape architect for Avalon Newcastle. Harrington has been project manager and lead landscape architect on projects. Her work includes the 624 Yale mixed-use project in South Lake Union. Williams joined GGLO in 2013. He previously worked in design as a writer, educator, design-lead and collaborator on higher education projects. His projects include Trinsic West Seattle. Suh has experience in print advertising, publication layout, event promotion and direct marketing.

ZGF Architects

Rogers

ZGF Architects hired Brent Rogers as a principal and senior designer in Seattle. Rogers has over 37 years of experience, most recently at NBBJ. He has led project design and worked in the commercial, mixed-use residential, tenant improvement and theater sectors. He is also a graduate design studio instructor at the University of Washington. Among his Seattle projects are Alley 24 and 223 Yale. He is working on Fifth + Columbia, a 44-story office and hotel tower in Seattle.

PCC Natural Markets

PCC Natural Markets named Cate Hardy chief executive officer. Hardy brings more than 15 years of retail experience in management, operations, supply chain, store development and strategy, and was selected following a national search. Hardy was with Starbucks for nine years, most recently as vice president of operations. She also was a vice president at Washington Mutual and a consultant with McKinsey & Co. and Deloitte.

AlphaCipher Acquisition

AlphaCipher Acquisition, which does business as Vadium providing digital privacy and security services, named Cinthia Portugal, Scott Hazeltine and Bill Yakamovich to the Senior Leadership Team. Portugal will lead marketing. Hazeltine will run accounting functions, human resources and internal IT operations. Yakamovich will manage the global Sales Engineering Group.

Vancouver, B.C.-based RDH Building Sciences promoted two and hired four in its Seattle office. Neil Warburton and Kyle Silliker, both senior project engineers, were promoted to the new position of associate. Warburton is a building science engineer for new and existing buildings. Silliker consults on enclosures for new and existing buildings, and rehabilitation projects. RDH hired Dave Fox, Jason Acosta and Alexis King as engineers in training, and Dan Sowell as building enclosure/architectural CAD drafter. Fox has six years of industry experience and holds a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering from Penn State University. Acosta holds a degree in architectural engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. King holds a degree in environmental engineering from the University of Waterloo. Sowell holds a degree in architecture from Ball State University.

Lease Crutcher Lewis

Berger Dodge joined Lease Crutcher Lewis as chief financial officer at the Seattle headquarters, where he reports to CEO Bart Ricketts. Dodge holds a bachelor's degree from Boston University, and an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Washington. He has 18 years of finance experience, including five years as CFO at Todd Shipyards and three years as senior vice president of finance at Vigor Industrial. Former Lewis CFO Philo Hall, who stepped down last month, remains on the company's board as corporate secretary.

Rush Commercial

Rush Commercial hired five at its Gig Harbor offices, and formed Sound Tools and Equipment as a separate business to rent equipment solely to Rush Commercial. Gary Wirkkala is managing the new business as equipment and tools coordinator. He has experience in vehicle, equipment and tool tracking, as well as maintenance and certification. Other new hires are: Mark Schrader, superintendent; Chad Johnson, assistant superintendent; and Andrew Krzyzanowski and Jason Parks, project engineers. Schrader has more than 10 years of experience in commercial construction. He is working on the 106-unit Keelson apartments in Ballard. Johnson previously was at High Country Contractors and Developers. He working on a 29,000-square-foot medical office in Puyallup. Krzyzanowski comes from Lennar. He is working on a 12,000-square-foot commercial project near the Outlet Collection in Auburn. Parks spent 10 years with Target Corp. building and renovating stores. At Rush, he is working on an expansion at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles.

DBM Contractors

Green

Equipment superintendent David Green retired from Federal Way-based DBM Contractors. Green started with DBM in 1986 after working with an equipment dealer that sold and serviced DBM equipment. He is succeeded by Davin Miller, who has worked with DBM's equipment fleet for more than 25 years.
